Godly Grounds

I’ve been pleased with the excellent product quality at our coffee shop this year.  Now if only I could purchase a monthly “subscription” and eliminate all that paper money nonsense.

Being a coffee snob myself, I think we should just start using beans, grounds and other forms of coffee as mediums of exchange. Paper money (aka “fiat money”) is really just Monopoly (TM) money at the end of the day. Usually, “commodity money” means precious metals like gold and silver. But coffee is a commodity, too, and commodities have real value.

How many ounces of beans would you charge me for your copy of Adobe Suite?

    About 630 ounces.

Adobe CS4 with Academic Discount: $550
One Pound of Peet’s Aged Sumatra: $13.95

    Price in Coffee Currency: ($550 / $13.95) x 16

Please, not all at once. Storage could be a problem.
